As a member benefit, the North Carolina Genealogical Society is extracting the data on the loose estates records folders that are located in the North Carolina Archives. The results are being shared with members on the NCGS website. The table below includes the county, name, date of probate, notes, record type (usually CR, that is, county records), one or more Family History Library film and item numbers, and limitations, in cases where the file exists either only at the North Carolina Archives or could only be found on microfilm.

Counties completed include:

• 007 - Avery
• 018 - Camden

To search for records existing in a particular county or about a particular surname, enter a portion of a surname and/or a county name or number and click "Submit."

You may enter the county number (such as "006") or the county name ("Camden") or a portion of a surname or county. "Ave" will return records for "Avery" county; "John" searched as a surname will return results for "Johns", "Johnson", and "Johnston", as well as "St. John."

To return to a complete, unfiltered listing, click the "Clear" button and click "Submit" again.

To change the number of records being displayed, use the "Display #" menu to make a selection, then click "Submit."
