The Burke County Genealogical Society seeks to encourage and aid in the accumulation and preservation of the historical and genealogical records of the Burke County, NC, area. Support is given to the North Carolina Room of the Burke County Public Library, 204 S. King St., Morganton, NC.

Regular meetings are held on the third Monday of February, May, August, and November at the Burke County Public Library at 6:30 p.m.

A number of Society publications dealing with the historical records of Burke County, NC, are available for purchase (see website). A quarterly Journal, emphasizing transcriptions of historic public documents, is produced for members; copies are also available for sale.
