Notes: Pamlico Family History Center is now open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1 pm to 4 pm, with staff to help the family historian. The research library has two computers with genealogy software programs and Internet connections. The Dallas E. Quidley surname collection contains 50000 linked individuals. The Pamlico County Heritage Center will officially open in July 2009. The new museum interprets farming, fishing, and forestry - the way of life - in coastal eastern North Carolina. The Pamlico County Heritage & Visitors Center is open Monday - Friday 10 am to 4 pm. The Annual Heritage Day with Heritage Day Village, demonstrations, live animals, barbecue, and entertainment is held the last Saturday in September.
